What database is recommended for Sage Accpac ERP?
Sage Accpac ERP supports 4 databases (Microsoft SQL, IBM DB2, Pervasive and Oracle). The primary database we recommend is SQL for many reasons. First, being performance as the current version is optimized for SQL. Second, is that it is able to handle large databases. Third, is that in order to use the Sage Accpac end to end applications such as CRM and HRMS, SQL is required for those particular applications. Fourth, is that SQL has a low cost of ownership and the database does not typically require upgrades with each new version of Accpac.
How can you access Accpac as a remote user from outside our office?
Although Sage Accpac ERP offers a browser based interface, for performance purposes we recommend using Citirx or Microsoft Terminal Services as it is secure and performs well. If you are using Accpac CRM in conjunction with ERP than the browser can be used by setting up an HTTPS connection as well.
Since the source code of Sage Accpac is not available, can the screens be customized?
As certified consultants and developers, we can use the SDK (Software Development Kit) and Visual Studio/Basic to create custom screens within Sage Accpac ERP to accomplish almost all of a companies needs that lie outside of the predefined framework.
I would like to email documents such as invoices, statements and purchase orders directly from Sage Accpac ERP. Is that possible?
Sage Accpac ERP integrates directly to microsoft outlook and will send the documents as a PDF attachment right from the accounting system. They can be sent in batch to a predetermined email address in the ERP system or the user can enter an email address on the fly. The email message itself can be a prebuilt template.
How do I go about changing the way a invoice, statement or any other form looks in Sage Accpac ERP?
Sage Accpac ERP uses Crystal Reports, so you will need Crystal Reports Professional in order to do that. Crystal not only requires a certain level of expertise and not just with Crystal but also the tables within Sage Accpac ERP. Unless you are just making cosmetic changes, it is recommended to use a certified consultant to assist with complicated changes.
How do I go about installing my Accpac ERP software?
Installing you Accpac ERP software is a very difficult process. ADSS Global recommends that you allow our certified staff to install you Accpac ERP software in order to maintain proper database integrity and operation of your Accpac ERP software.
How do I copy a database in Sage Accpac ERP
To copy a database in Sage Accpac ERP:
- Click Start > Sage Accpac > Tools > Database Copy
- Type the ADMIN password for Sage Accpac ERP, and click OK
- Select the database that you want to copy, and then click the Next button
- Select the target database, then click the Next button.
- On the final screen, check that the source and target databases have been specified correctly, then click Finish
How can a user change their password in Sage Accpac ERP?
Any user can change their Sage Accpac ERP password by clicking the Change Password button. Make certain the User ID is correct in the User ID Field. Enter the old password in the Old Password field. Enter a new password into the New Password field. Enter the new password in the Confirm New Password field to verify it, then click OK to save the change.
How many years of general ledger history can be saved in Sage Accpac ERP version 5.5?
There are three editions in Sage Accpac ERP. Sage Accpac 500 ERP will keep 99 years of history while Sage Accpac 100 ERP and Sage Accpac 200 ERP will keep 7 years.
Can I hide fields from users who will not use those fields while performing their every-day tasks in Sage Accpac ERP?
UI Profile Maintenance in Sage Accpac ERP assists administrators with customizing forms and dialog boxes for users. To create a UI Profile ID, open Sage Accpac ERP as the Admin user. Open the form that is being customized for a user and from the File menu, click Customize. The Customize screen displays a list of the controls that can be hidden for the dialog box or form that you started from. To hide some of these controls for users, you must either select an existing profile or create a new one. To create a new profile, click the New button beside the Working Profile field to open the UI Profile Maintenance form. Type a unique ID in the Profile ID field, using up to 20 characters, type a description in the Profile Description field, then click Add, then click Close to return to the Customize form. Click the check boxes beside the controls for the fields you want to hide to clear the check marks. These fields will not be visible when users assigned to the working profile open the form. Click Save, then OK to return to the dialog box you customized. Click Close.
How can a Sage Accpac ERP database be set up that requires all users to enter a password?
Start Database Setup, highlight a Sage Accpac ERP system database and select the Security option on the Edit Database Profile screen.
